Vung Tau is a city in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province , in the South East region of Vietnam . This is the center of economy, finance, culture, tourism, transportation - transportation and education and is one of the economic centers of the Southeast . Owning many beautiful beaches and fully invested infrastructure, Vung Tau is a popular tourist destination in the South. In addition, the city is also a logistics area of Vietnam's oil and gas industry. From May 2, 2012 , the province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau moved to Ba Ria City . [2] Vung Tau city is recognized as a first-class city under the first province of the whole South. [3]
Geographic location
Vung Tau, formerly known as Vung Tau Special Zone - Con Dao is a peninsula bordering Ba Ria and Long Dien District through Co May River, located on the peninsula of the same name and has both Long Son Island and Go Gang Island, Ho Chi Minh City. Minh 95 km to the southeast along the road and 80 km along the flight path, this is an important gateway of the Southeast to the sea.
- East: border with Long Dien district.
- West borders Ganh Rai bay .
- South, Southeast and Southwest borders the East Sea .
- It borders Ba Ria city and Phu My town in the North .
If looking in the direction of North and South, Vung Tau is located in the turning point from the south to the west of the lower part of the letter S (Vietnam map) and protrudes from the mainland like a strip of land about 14 km long and in the afternoon about 6 km wide.
Terrain
Vung Tau is a coastal city with 42 km of coastline, Big Mountain (Tuong Ky Mountain), 245 m high and Small Mountain (Tao Phung Mountain), 170 m high. On the small mountain, there is a lighthouse of 18 m high, projected up to 30 nautical miles and is over 100 years old, considered the oldest lighthouse in Vietnam. On the big mountain there is Ho May, a large freshwater lake and primeval forest. The city is surrounded by the sea, primeval forests, high mountains, in addition to rivers and large lakes, which provide a cool, year-round climate, there are many trees in the city. Flowers are grown everywhere.
